KM2128 Side Street in Florence

SOLD
I found this little scene while in Florence, Italy wandering around and peeking into all the side streets which is where I found this little courtyard. What a scene with the sunlit walls, lush growth all around and the sense of wonder of what it is like to live there.

KM2127 Perched

SOLD
I am having a great time painting subjects other than landscapes and florals. It is great to expand my horizons and of course anything in the animal world is a passion for me. Birds are such a wonderful part of our world, seemingly so free in flight and and their songs in the spring are like a symphony on my walks.

KM2126 Storm is Brewing

SOLD
I did this painting as a study for a larger piece for Sacred Dancing Gallery where I show in Bigfork, Montana. The scene is outside of Crested Butte on Kebler Pass in July. One of our typical afternoon Colorado storms was moving in and lighting up the hillside which was contrasted by the ominous, dark gray,blue/violet clouds. I'll be posting the larger one I did on my website next week.
I forgot to photograph this painting before varnishing it, so there is a bit of a sheen on it from the light reflecting off the varnish. Got ahead of myself!!!

This scene was found while walking around the beautiful town of Chipping Camden in the Cotswolds of England. It seemed that every home we came upon had beautiful, luscious and prolific gardens. KM2105 Warm with Spring

SOLD
This rich scene was painted from one of hundreds of pictures I took of this incredible garden found here in Denver last spring. It was a spectacle of oranges, purples greens in the form of poppies, iris and Queen Ann's Lace. I met the lady who has had the garden for many years and love the wildnesss of it. It has a lifetime of compositions to paint! Look for more to come in the future.

I found this scene last May while visiting Greece with my husband Jim. KM2114 Sunshine on My Shoulders

SOLD
I seem to be hung up on song titles and John Denver's song, Sunshine on my Shoulders keeps playing in my head. I guess I am ready to be done with winter and have some spring days with no wind, and sun shining on me in 70 degree temps. This sunlit path makes me feel the summer warmth. I did this landscape from a photo taken at our Denver Botanic Gardens late last summer. It was one of those perfect Colorado Days my mother used to refer to as "Champaign Days"

This brilliant garden was on Queen Anne's Hill in Seattle, Washington. As one who lives in Colorado there is much envy for all the moisture that creates the incredibily vivid, prolific and abundant gardens found in the Northwest. However, I wouldn't trade all of our sunshine for the rain! Therefore I continue to keep the memory of the great gardens found in my travels alive on canvas!

KM2052 Warm Fall Light

SOLD
Anyone who has been to New Mexico knows how magical the light is there. This was an early morning scene I found several years ago while attending a Kim English workshop. I was still working in pastels then but saved the photo I took and have always wanted to paint the magic of the moment that early morning as the sun was coming through the trees warming a cool fall morning. It is amazing how a picture is so powerful as it brings back all the memories of that great morning.
