KM2032Along the Path

This landscape painting was created from a photograph I shot while visiting Greece with my husband Jim. We visited last May when all the flowers were starting to bloom, both in the luscious potted flowers along the cobblestone streets and in the fields out in the countryside.

KM2003 Siesta Time

While on the island of Hydra in Greece and lost in the maze of winding paths I saw this burro leaning into the wall of a shady spot oblivious to our plight. He took my mind off of being lost and late for our boat's departure while I stood and photographed the sleepy guy. We did make it to the boat on time!

KM832 Spring's Warm Light

Late day always has magical light, especially in Provence, France. In my usual wandering with a camera in front of my face this was one of many beautiful late day scenes I found.

KM1089 Greek Poppies

These red poppies were found in Greece on the Peloponnese where we visited last May.
European poppies are such a vibrant red, unlike any I find here in the states. They seem to grow anywhere from fields to cracks in the stone steps.
This painting is a study for a larger version that I plan to do and is posted on my website:.

These wildflowers were blooming the summer following a forest fire. They are testament to the power and glory of nature.

KM2016 Gazing

Gazing is another inspiration from my trip to Montana, but this little guy was found when we went up to the Canadian side of Glacier National Park. The town we stayed in is Waterton and the deer are part of the small town that is surrounded by water and nature.

KM1056 Evening Descends

This painting is from a trip to Provence in the spring. I am enamored with the Olive tree orchards and love the mixture of the blue green leaves of the trees, the knarly tree branches in contrast to the brilliant red poppies swaying from the ground.

The Aspen Stand

This was a scene found outside of Crested Butte, Colorado one of my favorite spots to find incredible wildflower reference, but the Aspen in and amongst the whole area provide a plenitude of painting ideas both in the summer and in the fall.

KM2012 Grazing Time

I painted this little guy from a photograph that I took in New Zealand while traveling with my husband a few years ago. I have so many photos from my many ventures abroad that I am planning a series of small paintings that are from all my favorites. It will be a challenge just to sort through my vast collection of photos, but stay tuned!

KM1046 Dreamland

The other title for this painting is: My Cousin's Dog. It literally is! This was painted as a donation given to a fund raiser here in Denver called the Bow Wow Benefit which raises funds for Diana Price-Fish Cancer Foundation and MaxFund Animal Adoption Center.

KM957 Paris Street

Paris is a city of a million paintings! This colorful scene was in the Opera district of Paris right after a small rain shower and just as the sun started to peek through the clouds.

KM2005 Found

This painting is my donation for the 2nd Annual Art & Artifacts Benefit for Project Education Sudan:
Every brushstroke used is with hope that through my painting I can make a difference for this incredibly worthy cause.
I chose to paint this child, for he seems an inspiration to me carrying a load I never knew as a child.
