KMD2498 Water's Edge (wildlife, birds, landscape, original fine art)

SOLD
Another scene found from my pictures taken on a trip to New England a few years ago. This graceful bird was found while driving some back roads in New England. It is difficult to get very far when traveling with me as I see a picture at every turn!

KMD2497 Sunny Side Up (Sunflower, landscape, floral, original fine art)

SOLD

I will occasionally be adding 8"x10" and 9"x12" paintings to my Small Gems blog for a change of pace from the smaller 5x7 and 6x6 sizes. This painting is 9"x12" and a warm colorful scene from some sunflower fields in northeastern Colorado. I photographed this scene several years ago when traveling to the Pawnee Grasslands to do some painting on location. The sunflowers are amazing in the way that they follow the sun so entire fields of flowers are all smiling at you at once!

KMD2496 Lost in the Moment (Sunset, landsape, autumn, original fine art)

SOLD
This was a magic moment in a New England fall several years ago. I was photographing with my friend Pat in New England when we came upon this spot where we sat in wonder as the sun adding more glow to the already golden landscape.

KMD2494 Mighty Oak (Oak tree, landscape, Texas, original fine art)

SOLD
While in the Texas Hill Country last spring I was fascinated by the incredible Oak trees. These noble trees whose branches intertwine in a calligraphic dance seem to hold years of wisdom. When observing them or painting them I am in awe.

KMD2380 Magnificent Columbine (floral, nature, flower, original fine art

SOLD

How I love the Columbine, Colorado's state flower. It is so delicate composed of beautiful whites and lavenders with the contrasting bright yellow centers, usually growing in and amongst our aspen trees but also in the high mountain basins.
Every year it is fun to anticipate their bloom.

KMD2493 Autumn Blaze (fall, autumn, original fine art, oil painting, landscape)

Sometimes it is relaxing to look through my actual photos instead of the digital pictures to see what I have that have never been painted. With the hot days of summer upon us I suppose I am looking ahead to the beautiful Colorado fall days!

KMD2490 Washington Park Boathouse

SOLD

This was a commission done of an historic landmark here in Denver. This boathouse in located on Smith Lake in Washington Park. The boathouse pavilion in Wash Park also bears a bit of history and unique influence. Designed in 1913 by Jacques Benedict, the pavilion was based on the 17th century pavilion of Kara Mustafa Pasa at Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. Today, the boathouse can be rented out for events or just enjoyed by us artists as a wonderful subject to paint.

KMD2491 Spring's Bounty (floral, poppy, garden, original fine art)

SOLD

While perusing some old photos I came across one taken in Seattle on Queen's Hill several years ago. The gardens there are so lush in that moist climate, an envy to us Coloradans, but then I prefer the sunshine and difficult growing seasons here to overcast and rain. It makes traveling to the northwest a much appreciated treasure!
