KM2183 Amber Skies
SOLD
Had to take a break from the Colorado wildflowers and Crested Butte and journey back to Italy for awhile. This scene was a late afternoon, early evening outside of Assisi, Italy while visiting a few years back. The late day light is so magical and that is my favorite time of day as the world seems to settle into a quiet time where one can hear their thoughts that get lost in the flurry of the day!

KM2180 Poetry in Purple
SOLD
This scene caused me to come to a screeching halt while driving to Crested Butte as the red and blue violet colors in the flowers were so intense against the blue, blue mountains in the background. Luckily for me and the other drivers there was place to pull off the highway so we could record it in photographs to be interpreted here on canvas!!!!

KM2179 Infinite Skies
SOLD
This scene was found along the highway in to Crested Butte. I love Colorado's deep, rich blue skies especially when contrasted with the bright cumulus clouds. I am always in awe of being in such incredible beauty. Painting that feeling is a real challenge.

KM2178 Late Day Glow
SOLD
Here is the first of many to come from an incredible trip to Crested Butte, Colorado, the wildflower capital. It was awesome - the flowers the weather the photography. This scene was found late one afternoon right on the outskirts of town, just walking distance from our motel. We stayed until we had no more camera batteries or sunlight. It was magical to sit on a hill and watch the sun set glowing different colors on the hills that were rich with Paintbrush, sage and other flowers.

KM2063 Utterly Simple
SOLD
I found this gem of a floral scene on a walk while in Greece. The background was as warm as the flowers making it a challenge to make the flowers come forward and remain the main focal point of the painting. It was fun experimenting with color and brush strokes.

This painting was inspired from a visit to Bruges, Belgium when I was fortunate to be there in the fall when the colors in the ivy covered buildings reflected so colorfully in the canals. It was magic!

Here is an exquisite garden that was found right here in Denver, Colorado. It is one of the most exciting spring gardens that I have seen in many years as it is so wild and colorful with such a beautiful array of spring flowers. I have done many paintings from this one as it had so many compositions to choose from.

Here is another Colorado scene from our high country. This was outside of Crested Butte up one of the high passes there a few summers ago. I'll be there next week looking for new reference during the wildflower bloom. Can't wait to see what is in store for this year.

KM2167 Brilliant Garden
SOLD
What a brilliant sight this garden was. I found it a few summers ago while venturing around the town of Telluride, Colorado. This beautiful mountain town had so many incredible scenes, not only in town with the blooming flowers but surrounding town are high mountains with Aspen trees, Columbine and Indian Paintbrush. Those are still to come.

KM2059 Guard Dog
This little guy was guarding his path in a small village in Provence. It is a challenge to photograph the dogs I find along my travels as they aren't impressed with my invitation for them to pose. Being such a fanatic dog and cat lover, I never pass up a chance to photograph them and hopefully get a chance to paint them. Doing these small studies gives me that chance.
