KM974 The Baby Bunny
SOLD
I found this baby bunny during the summer while visiting my gallery in Estes Park, Colorado. He or she was hiding underneath some plants in their garden. Photographing him was a challenge before he got spooked and hopped away.

KM2035 Wildflower Meadow
SOLD
The view atop Kenosha Pass in Colorado is spectacular anytime of the year. I am partial to the wildflower season in July where the abundant wildflowers are giving the illusion of a purple stream! I travel and photograph this spot every year and this particular year was the only time I found them in this abundance.

KM2103 Bursting in Orange
SOLD
Sometimes it is fun to close in on subject and just see it for its singular uniqueness. I was drawn to doing this little composition because of the new buds, seemingly drooping but ready to burst forth with new life and flowers.

KM2102 After the Rain
SOLD
"After the Rain" is inspired from my first trip to Paris with my friend Pat who got me there in the first place. We walked and walked and photographed every square inch of the areas we saw. This scene was on Boulevard Les Italiens and was so full of life and color which is doubled by the reflections in the sidewalk caused by a small rain shower.

KM2101 Morning has Broken
SOLD
This little scene was found one morning while painting outside of Taos, New Mexico - the enchanted state and that it is. The light there is magical especially in the early morning and evening when the whole world there seems lit in a golden glow.

KM2099 Sunlit Poppies
SOLD
This brilliant garden was on Queen Anne's Hill in Seattle, Washington. As one who lives in Colorado there is much envy for all the moisture that creates the incredibily vivid, prolific and abundant gardens found in the Northwest. However, I wouldn't trade all of our sunshine for the rain! Therefore I continue to keep the memory of the great gardens found in my travels alive on canvas!

KM2098 Fall Road
SOLD
Fall Day is a departure from all the florals I have been doing this spring. This scene is near Mount Evans here in Colorado. I am always drawn to paths and roads in my compositions. I love the unknown of what might be around the next bend which is never a disappointment here!

KM2095 The Morning Chat
SOLD
Doing daily paintings gives me the opportunity to explore so much of my reference materials with a broad spectrum of subjects. This painting is a scene seen found one morning while in Tuscany in Italy with my studio partners John Harrell and Anita Mosher. We painted for our second anniversary show from the pictures we took on this trip. Of course Italy provides a lifetime of painting ideas and this is only one. There will be more!

KM2094 Night Bloom
I was photographing late one afternoon into the evening at the Denver Botanic Gardens here in Denver when I came upon this brilliant water lily all on its own. This is one of the many scenes I have photographed that I have been longing to paint and voila, I finally got to it!

KM2093 Montana Skies
SOLD
This is one of many to come from my trip to Montana last August. Montana skies are like no other (except maybe Colorado!!!). These clouds seem to be raising themselves to the heavens. I have always loved the blue skies contrasted with floating pure white clouds. What fun to interpret them on canvas. I will probably do a larger painting of this one.

KM2050 Flourishing Pink Poppies
SOLD
These incredible poppies were found here in Denver at our wonderful Botanic Gardens.
The gardens are such a gift to Denver residents and visitors to our city. They are a regular hang out for me with a bounty of colorful compositions to photograph. In my early career I spent many hours painting on location there and later teaching classes to other artists.

KM2017 Colorado Summer
SOLD
This little painting is a subject that is one of my favorites: Colorado wildflowers. The Columbine and Paintbrush are two of my favorites that I seek out during the wildflower bloom. Painting these little gems in my Denver studio gallery brings back fond memories of the colorful wildflower bloom we get in July.

KM2052 Warm Fall Light
SOLD
Anyone who has been to New Mexico knows how magical the light is there. This was an early morning scene I found several years ago while attending a Kim English workshop. I was still working in pastels then but saved the photo I took and have always wanted to paint the magic of the moment that early morning as the sun was coming through the trees warming a cool fall morning. It is amazing how a picture is so powerful as it brings back all the memories of that great morning.

Late Summer Bloom
I am enamored with our Colorado Aspen in any season, but especially in summer and fall as my paintings express. This is another scene from around Crested Butte, Colorado near the tail end of the spectacular wildflower blooms that come to our grand mountains.

Bursting with Joy
SOLD
With Spring almost here I am drawn to paint the colorful flowers that are soon to bloom. By March each year I get impatient for spring to arrive as winter seems to drag on. I just saw some crocus blooming in my next door neighbor's yard so I know winter is soon to be gone for another year. What a delight!

KM2031 The Baby Fox
SOLD
What is about baby animals? Have you ever met or seen one that didn't melt your heart. This little fox just spoke to me to be painted. I could spend the whole time that I was putting this to canvas in a joyous state looking at the face of innocence, playfulness and no sense of time. Am I lucky to spend my days as a fine artist or what?

KM2080 This is Greece
SOLD
I couldn't think of another title for this as it is to me typical of what I found in Greece while there last May. This little scene came from the Island of Hydra where there is no motor traffic, only foot traffic or donkeys. I could have taken many more photos but my marriage may then have ended! I do get carried away with the camera
