I have painted over the original "Lone Tree" painting that I posted several days ago. I am striving to loosen up my brushwork which I accomplished in this painting but it felt unfinished to me. I have added more contrast to the painting without comprising the looser brushwork and I am very satisfied with the results of this little painting.

Kit, Vicki B. was kind enough to share your blog with me. I hope you don't mind. But when I get here I find I've seen your blog before. Several of your paintings I remember. The Fawn, The Yearling, the one of the iris <---- (an absolutely gorgeous piece)
great work all over. Thanks for sharing. Again

I love the foreground. I think the Lone Tree needs to be more detailed to offset all the looseness everywhere else.
