KM2775 Afternoon Shadows by Colorado Artist Kit Hevron Mahoney (10"x8" orignial oil)

SOLD
I painted this scene for the 21st Annual Colorado Governor's Invitational Art Show and Sale which opens on Saturday, April 28 at the Loveland Museum. It is an honor to have been in this show for 11 years. I chose this scene because I loved the late day light and long shadows and the romance of Italy where I shot the photo reference.

KM2553 Washington Park Boathouse (autumn scene, landscape, waterscape, original oil painting)

I can't believe how fast the summer is going and how far behind on my daily paintings I am. The good news is that I have been busy with commissions that have taken me away from my blogging.
I painted this nostalgic scene of the Washington Park Boathouse on location last fall. It was a perfect, crisp Colorado fall morning, a gift to be able to be part of the scene and to express the scene on canvas. It doesn't get any better!

KMD2578 Walkin in the Rain (urban, figurative, urban landscape)

SOLD
The real fun of these small paintings is jumping around to different subject matter. It is great to challenge myself with a variety of subjects and compositions keeping the creative juices flowing. I don't do too many urbans, but am continually inspired by my gallery partner John K. Harrell, the king of urbans! This is a scene shot in Portland when I had the opportunity to be in a gallery there.

KMD2507 Paris Rain (Paris, Europe, urbanscape, rain, original fine art)

SOLD

I had to jump to Paris for a day. Looking through my lifetime of photos from so many travels I think to myself how fortunate I am to have seen so many wonderful new places in addition to my beautiful Colorado. This photo was taken in Paris while wandering the Opera District and rain showers followed by sun all day. It made for some really romantic reflection subjects.

KMD2487 Asciano (Italy, urbanscape, city, village, Europe)

SOLD
I had to do this scene from the large one I posted earlier. Normally, the daily (ok, weekly) paintings usually inspire a larger painting, but since I did this one large first I found that it spoke to me to go small. This is a wonderful little village on the outskirts of Siena, Italy that we found as the day was ending.
