It seemed like the perfect subject to paint with the 4th of July just around the corner. It is great that I now have so many shows and commissions behind me that I now have time to get back to doing some of my small daily paintings.

Delving into the abstract brings me such joy as they come totally unbidden. These little paintings often generate ideas for larger paintings. This is one which I look forward to creating on a large scale. I really love the mix of color and shape this one has.
